coin Portugal 2 euro commemorative 2022 100th anniversary of the first crossing of the South Atlantic FDC

The feat was carried out in the spring of 1922 by Portuguese aviators Carlos Viegas Gago Coutinho and Artur de Sacadura Freire Cabral. They flew from Lisbon to Rio de Janeiro using Faire III biplanes. They left Portugal on March 30 and arrived on June 17; so their journey lasted 79 days, even if they spent only 62 hours and 26 minutes in flight, covering a total of 8,383 kilometers.
